Primaris Foundation Receives Missouri Foundation for Health Grant
Non-profit will run call center for in-person Marketplace enrollment assistance

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Finding help to sign up for an Affordable Care Act health plan just got easier with the announcement of a $175,000 grant from Missouri Foundation for Health. Primaris Foundation received the grant to develop a call center to allow consumers to be connected with in-person Marketplace enrollment assistance through referrals and appointment scheduling.

The call center is part of the Cover Missouri Coalition efforts to provide a toll-free number with trained operators that will provide enrollment referrals, event information and appointment scheduling. Operators will be equipped with Cover Missouri resources to provide referral information to local assistance organizations and events.

Primaris has provided services for Missouri CLAIM, including a toll-free call center where customer-service representatives (CSRs) receive an average of 18,000 calls annually and schedule appointments with Medicare counselors for more than 20 years.

The call center will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays during Marketplace open enrollment from Oct. 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016. For the remaining months of the grant, the call center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Staffing will include six part-time call-center CSRs before and during the open enrollment period, led by one full-time senior CSR. After Jan. 31, the senior CSR and two part-time CSRs will cover the call center.

The grant is for a 12-month period beginning Sept. 1, 2015. Primaris Foundation is expected to have the call center and toll-free number go live by October.
